The 2026 The Medical Society of Eastern Pennsylvania (MSEP)—the Greater Philadelphia affiliate of the National Medical Association (NMA)—is proud to support the next generation of physicians as they begin their residency training in Philadelphia.
The #BlackPhillyMedResidentsSupport Program is designed to ease the transition into residency while fostering community, connection, and long-term professional growth.
Each year, MSEP provides support to incoming residents who are underrepresented in medicine and new to the Philadelphia area.
The program includes: up to $1,000 in financial support for selected residents to help offset relocation and transition costs, opportunities to connect with a network of Black physicians and peers in the region, access to resident-led events and programming designed to build community, collaboration, and support ongoing engagement with MSEP initiatives and professional development opportunities.
Our goal is to ensure that new residents feel welcomed, supported, and connected as they begin this important stage of their medical careers.
We are excited to welcome you to the MSEP community and support you as you begin your residency journey in Philadelphia. To learn more about the eligibility criteria, deadline, and the program itself, please explore the application below:
